Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 23, 2026
Relay Technologies LLC ("we," "us," "our") operates surveillancereview.com (the "Site") and publishes the Surveillance Review software (the "Software"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you visit the Site, contact us, buy credits, or use the Software; how we use it; and the choices you have.
The Short Version
Your surveillance footage is never sent to us. Analysis runs on your own computer. Cases, clips, stills and notes are written to your own disk and stay there. We could not produce your footage if we were asked to, because we do not hold it.
The one exception is the AI description stage, which sends a small number of extracted still frames for description and nothing else — not the video file, not your case details, not your notes. This is described in full below.
Information We Collect
Information you give us. When you contact us, book a demonstration, or buy credits, we collect the information you provide — typically your name, email address, phone number if you give one, firm or agency, and the contents of your message. Contact and booking details are stored in our customer relationship system so we can reply and follow up.
Billing details, handled entirely by Stripe. When you buy credits you are on Stripe's own payment page, not ours. We never see or store your card number — what reaches us is your email address, the amount paid, and a Stripe reference, which we use to create your account and issue your activation code.
Information collected automatically. Our web host records standard server logs for the Site: IP address, browser type, pages requested, and the time of the request. The Software checks for updates, which tells our release host that a copy checked in; it does not send us your cases, your footage or your activity.
What we do not collect. No video file is uploaded at any stage. Case numbers, subjects, notes, summaries and event records stay on your machine. The Software's diagnostic log deliberately records no case content and no footage paths beyond a filename involved in an error, so that a log you share with us cannot disclose your subject's whereabouts.
The AI Description Stage
When AI analysis is enabled, the Software sends a small number of extracted still frames to an AI provider for description, together with the instructions for that description. It does not send the video file, your case details, your notes, your file paths, or anything identifying you.
The provider is Anthropic, and the frames are sent through their API under their Commercial Terms of Service. Those terms state, in their own words: “Anthropic may not train models on Customer Content from Services.” Under the same terms you retain all rights to what is submitted, and data is processed under their Data Processing Addendum.
We quote that rather than summarize it because it is the sentence a careful buyer is actually looking for, and because it is theirs to change, not ours. If you are evaluating this for a client who will ask, read it at anthropic.com/legal/commercial-terms rather than taking our word for it — and if it ever changes, this page is wrong until we fix it.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Respond to your inquiries and provide the demonstration, support or information you request;
- Create your account, deliver your activation code, and keep track of your credit balance;
- Operate, maintain, and improve the Site and the Software;
- Communicate with you about the Software, where you have agreed to hear from us;
- Protect the Site, the Software and our business against fraud, abuse, and security risks;
- Comply with legal and accounting obligations.
Cookies, Analytics and Tracking
This Site sets no cookies and runs no analytics. Not for preferences, not for traffic measurement, not for advertising — a request for any page returns no Set-Cookie header, which you are welcome to check for yourself. There is no Google Analytics, no advertising pixel, no social media embed and no session recorder. We do not know who visits or what they look at beyond what a web server log records. Blocking cookies entirely will not stop any part of this Site working.
The demonstration booking page embeds a calendar from our scheduling provider. That embedded page is theirs, and may set its own cookies under its own policy while you use it.
How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only:
- With service providers who help us operate the Site, the Software and our business — our web host, payment processor, customer relationship and email system, scheduling provider, and the AI provider named above — under obligations to protect it and only for that purpose;
- When required to comply with law, a subpoena, or a lawful request, or to protect our legal rights;
- In connection with a business transfer (such as a merger or acquisition), subject to this Policy.
Data Retention
Account, licensing and payment records are kept while your account is active and for seven years after your last transaction, which is what United States tax and accounting rules require of us. Contact and support correspondence is kept only while it is useful, and we will delete it on request unless we are required to retain it.
Everything on your own machine is retained entirely by you. Your cases, footage, clips, stills, descriptions and notes live on your disk and nowhere else. That cuts both ways and it is worth being plain about: we cannot delete them for you, and we cannot recover them for you either. If you lose that disk, we have no copy.
Your Choices and Rights
You may:
- Ask us what personal information we hold about you;
- Ask us to correct or delete your personal information;
- Unsubscribe from any marketing email at any time using the link in that email, and stop text messages at any time by replying STOP.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR (for residents of the European Economic Area) or the CCPA (for California residents), including rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the use of your personal information. To exercise any of these, contact us using the details below. If you are outside the United States, note that your information will be processed in the United States.
Security
We use reasonable measures to protect the limited information we hold. Separately, and importantly: signing in to the Software gates access to it, but does not encrypt anything. Case files sit readable on the disk of the computer they are on. If you need protection at that level, use full-disk encryption — FileVault on macOS, BitLocker on Windows.
Do Not Track
The Site does not respond to browser "Do Not Track" signals, because there is no agreed standard for what responding should mean — and because it tracks nothing to begin with.
Children's Privacy
This is a professional tool. The Site and the Software are not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The current version is always posted on this page with its "last updated" date.
SMS Messaging Data
Phone numbers and messaging data collected through our SMS program are used solely to deliver the messages you have opted into — such as demonstration booking confirmations, reminders, and related notifications. This information is not sold, rented, or used for third-party marketing. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP, or reply HELP for help.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. SMS opt-in data and consent are never shared with any third party.
