Terms of Service
Last updated: September 23, 2026
Relay Technologies LLC operates surveillancereview.com (the "Site") and publishes the Surveillance Review software (the "Software"). Throughout the Site and the Software, the terms "we", "us" and "our" refer to Relay Technologies LLC. Everything offered on the Site and in the Software is available to you, the user, conditioned upon your acceptance of all terms, conditions, policies and notices stated here.
Overview
By accessing or using the Site, by installing or using the Software, or by purchasing credits, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Site or the Software.
We may update these Terms from time to time. The most current version is always posted on this page with its last-updated date, and your continued use of the Site or the Software after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of those changes.
If you have signed a separate agreement with us, that agreement controls where it conflicts with these Terms. These Terms cover the Site and the Software as made generally available.
1. Who We Are and What We Provide
Surveillance Review is desktop software that assists with the review of video footage by identifying moments that may warrant attention and describing them. It runs on your own computer. The Site describes the Software, sells credit packs for its AI description feature, and lets you contact us or book a demonstration.
The Software is an aid to review. It does not replace review, and it does not decide anything. Section 3 sets out plainly what it does not do.
2. Use of the Site and the Software
You agree to use the Site and the Software only for lawful purposes. You may not:
- Use the Site or the Software in any way that violates applicable law or regulation, including laws governing surveillance, recording, privacy and data protection in the relevant jurisdiction;
- Use the Software to conduct unlawful surveillance, or to harass, stalk or harm others;
- Analyze footage you do not have the right to possess and process;
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Site, our services, or the systems that serve the Software;
- Introduce viruses, malware, or other harmful code;
- Reverse engineer, decompile or circumvent the licensing, activation or credit mechanisms of the Software;
- Interfere with or circumvent the security or operation of the Site or our services.
We reserve the right to restrict or terminate access to the Site or our services for anyone who violates these Terms. Terminating access does not affect a credit balance except where the credits were obtained by fraud.
3. What the Software Does Not Do
This section matters more than most, so it is stated directly rather than buried in a warranty disclaimer:
- It does not make footage admissible. Nothing the Software produces establishes chain of custody, authenticates a recording, or determines what is usable as evidence in any proceeding. Those questions are for you, your client and their counsel.
- It does not find everything. Darkness, distance, glare, obstruction and camera movement all limit what any detection system can see. Events will be missed.
- Its descriptions are generated, not observed. Automated descriptions can be wrong, and the Software marks its own uncertainty for that reason. You are responsible for reviewing the footage behind anything you rely on.
- It does not advise you on the law. Where, when and how surveillance may lawfully be conducted and recorded is your responsibility.
4. Your Responsibilities
- You are responsible for having the right to possess and process the footage you analyze.
- You are responsible for complying with all laws that apply to your surveillance activity.
- You are responsible for the security of the computer the Software runs on, and for the case data stored on it. The Software does not encrypt your files; full-disk encryption is your choice to make.
- You are responsible for anything done with your license key, including by anyone you give it to.
5. Licensing, Activation and Credits
You are granted a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to install and use the Software. An activation code is redeemed once, on the machine that will use it, and produces a license key for that machine. A second machine needs a second code, which we will issue on request at no charge.
Your license key authenticates AI requests billed against your credit balance, so treat it as you would a password. Do not publish it or share it outside your organization. We may revoke a key that appears to be compromised or that is being used in breach of these Terms; revoking a key does not affect your credit balance.
There is no subscription and nothing lapses. Credits are bought outright in one-time purchases, never expire, and roll over indefinitely. Nothing renews and nothing is billed again. The Software continues to work with a zero balance — motion detection, object detection, clips, the timeline, your review and the reports all run on your own machine and cost nothing. Only the AI descriptions pause until you top up.
Credit purchases are not refundable. This is the other side of credits that never expire: nothing you buy is ever lost to a deadline. Payment is processed by Stripe; we never see or store your card details.
6. Intellectual Property
The Software, the Site and their contents — including text, design, graphics, logos, and code — are owned by Relay Technologies LLC or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited right to use the Software, not a transfer of ownership. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from the Site or the Software without our written permission.
Your footage, cases and work product are yours. We claim no rights in them, and we never receive them.
7. Submissions and Feedback
If you send us ideas, suggestions, feedback, or other materials — through the Site, in a demonstration, or otherwise — you agree that we may use them without restriction or compensation, and without any obligation to keep them confidential. You represent that any materials you send do not violate the rights of any third party. This does not apply to your footage or case data, which you should never send us and which remain yours under Section 6.
8. Third-Party Services
The Software's AI description stage relies on a third-party provider, identified in our Privacy Policy. Payment is handled by Stripe, and booking by our scheduling provider. Their availability and behavior are outside our control, and the Software is designed to continue functioning without the AI stage. Your use of any third-party service is subject to that third party's own terms and policies.
9. No Warranties
The Site and the Software are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Software will detect any particular event, that its descriptions will be accurate, or that the Site or the Software will be uninterrupted, secure or error-free. Any reliance on Site content or Software output is at your own risk.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Relay Technologies LLC and its members, officers, employees, contractors, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including lost profits, lost revenue, lost business, lost goodwill, lost data, or the cost of substitute services — arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Site or the Software, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. This includes any loss arising from an event the Software did not surface, described inaccurately, or dismissed. The Software narrows footage for review; it does not watch it for you.
Our total liability arising out of or relating to these Terms, the Site or the Software is limited to the greater of the amounts you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose, or one hundred United States dollars. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Relay Technologies LLC and its members, officers, employees, contractors, and agents from any claim or demand, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising from your breach of these Terms, your violation of any law or third-party right, or how you obtained or used the footage you analyzed.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or use of the Site or the Software will be subject to the jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in New Jersey.
13. Severability and Entire Agreement
If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full effect. These Terms, together with any policies posted on the Site and any signed agreement between us, constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Site and the Software.
