Install on a Mac or a Windows PC
Which download to take, what the operating system says the first time, and where the app puts your files.
The download link is in the email that came with your activation code. The page picks the installer for the computer you are on; if it offers two for a Mac, check which one you need before you click.
On a Mac
- Download SurveillanceReview.dmg. If your Mac has an Intel processor, take the Intel download instead — Apple menu → About This Mac tells you which you have. The wrong one will not launch.
- Open the .dmg and drag SurveillanceReview onto the Applications folder shown beside it.
- Open it from Applications. The app is signed and notarized by Relay Technologies LLC, so macOS opens it without a warning.
On Windows
- Download SurveillanceReview-Setup.exe and run it. Use the installer, not the .zip.
- Windows SmartScreen may show Windows protected your PC. The installer is signed by Relay Technologies LLC; a newer certificate just has no reputation with Microsoft yet. Click More info, then Run anyway.
- Follow the installer. It installs for your user only — no administrator prompt — and adds the WebView2 component if your PC does not have it. Leave Open Surveillance Review ticked on the last page.
Where your files go
Everything the app keeps — your sign-in, your license, every case with its footage, clips and review — lives in one folder on this computer and nowhere else. On a Mac it is ~/Library/Application Support/SurveillanceReview; on Windows it is %APPDATA%\SurveillanceReview. Updating or reinstalling the app never touches it, and uninstalling leaves it in place.
Updates
When a newer version exists, a bar appears at the top of the window: A new version is available. Download update opens the download page; install the new version over the old one and your cases are exactly where you left them. To check by hand, click the version number (for example v1.5.11) at the bottom of the sidebar.
